Red Rock Developments building 1.3 million SF facility for Techtronic Industries
October 13, 2015
Red Rock Developments announced it is building a 1.3 million-square-foot facility for Techtronic Industries in Anderson County.
The $85 million distribution, assembly and reconditioning center is expected to be completed in June 2016. It is an expansion of Techtronic Industries’ footprint in South Carolina, which includes facilities in both Anderson and Pickens. The project is currently underway on 300 acres near the intersection of Interstate 85 and S.C. Highway 81.
“This location decision was the result of an international site selection process,” said Red Rock Developments CEO William C. “Bill” Smith Jr. “We are excited to have been chosen for this project and are proud to help Techtronic Industries continue its growth in South Carolina.”
With this new facility, Techtronic Industries is expected to add at least 216 jobs over the next five years, expanding a current South Carolina workforce of approximately 1,000.
Techtronic Industries is headquartered in Hong Kong and manufactures consumer, professional and industrial products from power tools to appliances. Its brand portfolio includes names such as Dirt Devil, Homelite, Hoover, Milwaukee, Oreck and Ryobi, which can be found in retailers such as The Home Depot.
