North Las Vegas Project for Nicholas & Company Honored

Red Rock Developments earned a Merit Award in the Industrial Building category at this year’s 18th Annual Spotlight Awards, sponsored by the Southern Nevada Chapter of NAIOP, the Commercial Real Estate Development Association.

The single-tenant, build-to-suit facility was designed for Nicholas & Company. The 180,000 square foot  North Las Vegas warehouse can hold up to 600,000 cases of food‐service products for distribution to restaurants, hospitals, schools and other commercial customers. The building includes an on‐site exposition kitchen and is designed to be expandable to more than 400,000 square feet.

“We’re proud to be recognized for good work,” said William C. “Bill” Smith, Jr., Chief Executive  Officer of Red Rock Developments. “Not only did this project help make Nicholas & Co. the largest independent broad-line food-service distributor in the Intermountain West, it also complements and enhances the surrounding area.”

The Class A industrial building was completed on time and under budget. Red Rock Developments was owner/developer. Hansen-Rice Inc. was architect and general contractor. Walker Engineering LLC provided engineering services.

The NAIOP, the Commercial Real Estate Development Association, includes developers, owners and investors of office, industrial, retail and mixed-use real estate. It comprises 15,000-plus members throughout North America.
