LEADERSHIP TEAM

Bill Smith is a founder and CEO of Red Rock Developments. Bill has over 34 years of real estate development experience and leads the overall strategic direction of Red Rock. He serves as Executive Managing Partner of Red Rock Investment Partners, the management company of Red Rock Industrial Fund I. Bill has a broad and deep range of experience that includes deal structuring, equity raise, capital relationships, site acquisition and entitlement, financing, lease and legal structure, and construction oversight. Prior to founding Red Rock, Bill was the co-founder and CEO of Holmes Smith Developments for 15 years, one of the Southeast’s leaders of industrial build-to-suit properties. Smith had brief stints with Edens and Avant and L.J. Hooker Developments, an Australian-based development company. Over his career, Bill has developed over 25 million square feet of industrial, office and retail properties.

Well respected by his peers and throughout his community, Bill learned many life lessons as a member of the 1981 Clemson National Championship Football team. Bill continues his relationship with Clemson University today as a lifetime member of its Board of Trustees and has received the university’s Brian Dawkins Lifetime Achievement Award in football and the Distinguished Service Award given by the Alumni Association. Bill has served on numerous Boards throughout his career including the Columbia Urban League, EdVenture Children Museum, South Carolina Athletic Hall of Fame and The Masters in Real Estate Development Board of Clemson University. In addition, Bill is the recipient of the 2008 March of Dimes Real Estate Award.

Bill earned a Bachelor of Science in Administrative Management from Clemson University and is a graduate of both Leadership South Carolina and Leadership Columbia. Bill is married with two adult children and is an active member of Shandon Baptist Church.
